The service forms part of the Planning and Building Control Group within the Planning and Transportation Division, of the Enterprise,Environment and Culture Directorate. Building Control is structured into functional areas dealing with plan examination,inspection of building work, and other associated duties such as dangerous structures, demolitions etc.
Planning and Transportation is functionally organised into sections dealing with Strategic Planning and Transportation, Development Planning, City Centre Developments, Traffic and Transport,Project Development, Urban Design and Conservation and Planning and Building Control.
